Why we are unique
An organisation leaning on Theory Of Constraints
Our views on organisation models and structures have been based on a flat structure from the very beginning. As requirements change so does our structure which means that we adopt to any temporary constraints.
Survival of the fittest
Part of our success lies in the fact that some companies in the EWAB Group approach things a bit different. Our open attitude to new ideas and the willingness from each Project Centers to share ideas with each other, provide us with an excellent possibility to use bench marking activities between the different Project Centers. New experience is carried over to others who in turn take improvements one step further. Through this continuous process we get a development which is very much like mother nature itself.
We call our business strategy Operational Excellence and it is based on extensive team work, 100% process and project orientation, a high competence flexibility and high throughput. With this combination we are able to provide what we call the Best Total Deal to our customer. The definition indicates that there are other values that should be taken into consideration than just the initial acquisition cost of the physical products. We are strong believers in that in the long term the supplier that can provide the Best Total Deal will win. As Life Cycle Cost evaluation is now slowly being introduced, our outstanding performance is becoming obvious to some of our customers.
Coordinating the big picture
All developments need some kind of guidance and direction to try to predict future requirements. This is the main role for EWAB Group management. Operational functions are coordinated by the Group Coordination Team in order to make sure that resources are optimised and that maximum customer satisfaction targets are reached. Such areas are business and market development, the Group capacity utilisation level, IT, CRM, ERP and legal, fiscal, financial and cash flow monitoring.
The Multi skilled Organisation
The members of the EWAB organisation will always have to learn new skills and must be prepared to do so all the time. Everybody has to have the mind set that everything can be improved to the better and everybody needs to participate in this continuous improvement work in a positive and constructive way. Learning new things is always fun. Work done by multi skilled teams always score higher customer satisfaction ratings than work done by traditional teams. Satisfied customers are the only guarantees for the future need of any organisation.
The most important element in any process is in how well we can master communications. The technological part has to be the very best but it is not the most critical. Good language skills in reading and writing and the ability to understand other cultures in a global environment are the real keys to success. A common successful corporate culture can only be maintained if the organisation members are able to communicate and interact directly with each other in an efficient and safe way. We have come a long way but we still have much ground to cover before we reach our communication objectives.
To make considerable and long-lasting improvements requires a strong momentum which can only be achieved by an active involvement from all organisation members. This has become more and more clear to us over the last years. The old principle of "Pushing" new ideas has never worked well. What we instead have seen are the results that can be generated when the "Pull" principle is set to work. Very often incredible improvement can be made in less time and with fewer resources than expected.
When you are searching for old wisdom you will often find that some problems have occupied people as long as history has been recorded. It is mostly just the environment that has changed, not people. We have come across a proverb that we think fits in very well with what we are trying to achieve and this is one that will stay with us for a long time.- Tell me and I will forget! - Show me and I may remember! - Involve me and I will learn!
